1)      Develops annual operating and capital budgets for hospital.

 2)      Develops the annual long-range financial plan of hospital.

 3)      Prepares appropriate financial reports necessary to show overall financial performance.

 4)      Helps develop strategies to maintain the financial well being of the hospital.

 5)      Invest excess short term and long term cash and/or investment portfolios to maximize the return on investment while maintaining the safety               of the investments.

 6)      Supervises and directs the following departments:  Accounting, Data Processing,  Collections, Business Office, and Insurance.

 7)      Accountable for preparation and review of contracts with preferred providers.

 8)      Accountable for all business office functions including billing systems and procedures for the accurate billing and collection of accounts.

 9)      Ensure accuracy and efficiency of chargemaster and compliance of regulatory requirements relating to billing

 10)    Work within GAAP in the accounting system and maintain appropriate and accurate financial records to present to administration.  Also, work with audit group to maintain appropriate reporting

 11)    Ensure all financial reporting responsibilities are well documented and maintained within compliance for the facility

12)    Responsible for any and all duties related to the expenditure and revenue cycle within the facility.

Position Purpose

Registration of patients presenting to Progressive Health of Helena.  Conducts patient interviews to obtain registration information, complete required forms and obtain signatures.  Represents Progressive Health of Helena as the focal point for all initial communications.

Position Qualifications

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent education.

Experience:

Minimum of 6 months customer service required.  Knowledge of computers and other standard office equipment required.  Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute required.  Medical office experience preferred.

Licenses/Certificates:

No licensure required.

Associate degree in medical laboratory technology (or equivalent) from an accredited two year college, or be a graduate of a medical laboratory school or program accredited by an organization approved by the US Department of Education, and must show evidence of having obtained an appropriate degree or certificate of completion, or completed a US military laboratory procedures training program, provided that the training credits were earned in or have been accepted by, an accredited college or university leading to the award of an appropriate degree.   Able to perform the duties of a general supervisor under CLIA.

Desirable characteristics include at least two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment.

Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given.

Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.

Computer literate with good verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrates interest and ability to assume responsibility
